About me
I help people and organizations turn fiction into autobiography by use of my legal and mediation skills. Most of us are living an unfinished story, with obstacles or disputes in the way, and would like to end up in an amazing place -- be it by a happy divorce, getting a dispute settled, ensuring that assets get divided without rancor, resolving a disagreement, etc. What is that place for you, and do you need help to get there?
As an Attorney, Collaborative Settlement Advocate, Mediator, and/or Peace-Making Problem-Solver, Jeffrey Lawrence Pollock has devoted his 38 year career to helping people settle disputes. He has concentrated his talents primarily in the field of Family Law and Domestic Relations since he started his own sole practitioner home-based law office in 1989. Jeff's B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (focused in Psychology and Legal Studies) and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh provided the grounding to best utilize the law to help his clientele maximize their options. His grandfather's influence from having been a Labor Law Mediator -- as complemented by Jeff being trained in Mediation in 1995 at Duquesne Law School, followed by his co-founding CLASP (the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania) after being certified in 2006 in Rochester, NY -- created the even-handed temperament necessary to help separating/separated couples obtain their desired outcomes in a fair and balanced manner.
This active member in the Allegheny County Bar Association's respective Family, Juvenile, Estate, Criminal, Sole Practitioners, Probate, and Elder Law sections and committees keep him up to date with the necessary tools to best assist those individuals who need his counsel. His past awards and chairmanships have enabled Atty. Pollock to be a leader in the fields in which he has long been entrusted with the duties to help families in crisis. Jeff's extensive volunteer history, track record of community service, and diverse Pro Bono service to the likes of the NLSA, YWCA, Hosanna House, Father's Rights Groups, and military veterans groups have coalesced to instill clients' faith in his objective compassion and wide-ranging concern for anyone who has been unfortunately thrust into an unfortunate legal situation. His regretful-but-helpful personal experiences with Divorce/Custody/Support, Estate/Probate Conflicts, and Civil/Criminal Court Litigation have created an empathic/ empathetic approach that has most helped in the past and will best serve in the future those people who choose to depend upon him for the most just legal outcome possible as tailored to their situation.
